Stage 3 – Intermediate Craft Skills

Each Stage, runs 1 day a week over 33 weeks spread throughout the year from September 2020 – July 2021.

The day starts at 9.30 and runs until 4:30pm with a half hour lunch break.

The projects are a mixture of exercise pieces (provided) and rebuilds of original upholstered furniture (sourced by the student).

The emphasis is on giving you the skills to create good quality upholstery – but not forgetting that ‘creative flair’ we are known for here at Bristol Upholstery Collective.

As an AMUSF approved training centre, with the freedom to inspire your wildest creative side and personal style, we’ll be sharing our passion for truly creative upholstery and our unique approach to furniture industry.

The AMUSF upholstery qualification will be progressive, leading to a Diploma.

A Pass will be required at each stage before a student can progress to the next stage.

Project portfolio and notes

This is an intensive training course where you will be learning a lot in a short space of time. To help you retain this knowledge so that you can build on it after (and during) the course we expect you to keep a project portfolio of photographs and notes that you make during the classes. We will guide you in ways to achieve this, but encourage you to make the most of this opportunity – so make sure you have a notebook and camera ready! The portfolio will provide evidence to help us assess your work during the Diploma. We suggest that you keep your portfolio up-to-date as you go, as it's a lot to present if saved to the last minute!

The year ends with a Celebratory Exhibition of student works.
